Apple Tree to Berowra

I had to go to Bobbin Head to get my annual pass for the National Parks and after I thought I waould walk from Apple Tree Bay to Berowra. Once at Berowra the trains were out so rather than catch the crowded bus to Mount Kuringai and walk down the ridge  I turned around and walked back the same way. The cafe at Berowra was full as well so that left me with a very ordinary coffee and  aroll from Subway. 18klm for the return trip.

A very high tide-there was water over the road at Bobbin Head and to the top of the boat ramp at Apple Tree. It also had flooded part of the track and forced me into a short climb up some rocks at the back of the bay at Winson Gully.

A few short showers as I headed down the creek.

What a difference an hour or two makes. Blue skies, very hot and humid and low tides.

Three lookouts, Caoura Ridge

A combined bike ride/walk to three lookouts off Caoura Ridge. We ended up with 18klm by bike and walking only 4.2klm.
The first lookout over the Shoalhaven River Gorge  and downstream to Tallowa Dam is a 600mtr walk off the main fire trailon an old closed and overgrown trail.

Next is Purnoo Lookout at the end of the fire trail with views over the Kangaroo River and Tallowa Dam.

And the third is half way back on the fire trail and 1.5klm in along another closed and revegatating fire trail. This one looks over the Bundanoon Creek Gorge.

Definitely one of my favourites.

Les Lambert Lookout, Yarrawa Plateau

A bike ride out to Les Lambert Lookout on the Yarrawa Plateau. A relatively flat and easy 4klm on the bike then a klm walking making it 10 klm all up. Mostly dry but a few short showers to contend with.

The fire trail leads off from Wallaby Hill Road near Belmore Fall and enters Budderoo National Park.

The end of the fire trail and the start of the track.

Kangaroo Valley with Hindmarsh Ridge leading down from the plateau to Binya Hill.
