Jounama Creek

Day one of my trip to the Northern  section  of Kosciuszko National Park. Had driven all day in rain through Yass , Gundagai and Tumut thinking that I was in for a wet camp. As I arrived in Talbingo the skies cleared and I camped metres from the water of Jounama Creek in a little spot all to myself. Time for a walk of about 4klm return up Jounama Creek to a nice pool.

Back at camp in the late afternoon I sat with a beer and read while trout jumped in the creek  next to me. Not bad.

Gerringong Falls

Gerringong Falls is on the Budderoo Plateau in Budderoo National Park near Robertson.

The plateau is a mix of open heath and woodland.

Gang Gang Cockatoo

A long fire trail walk 18.3klm return to the falls and back.

First view of the cliffs near the falls.

One of the creeks near the falls.

Two creeks join at this pool at the top of the falls. deep enough for a swim in summer.

Thick scrub along the cliffs  and no track to a viewpoint so no long view of the falls, but spectacular as you stand right on top of the falls.

Small cascades upstream.

Must be big water here after rain to carry this tree down.

Changed to the telephoto lens for the walk back as no views but good birding

Four Views

The Three Views trail is in Morton National Park at Kangaroo Valley and overlooks the Ettrema Wilderness. The walk is on firetrails but an other overgrown tails leads off to the fourth view.

The walk is mainly flat and easy walking on the plateau through heath and scrubby woodland.

Turning off the fire trail on the easily followed but overgrown trail I first went out to the "fourth view". On the cliffs looking over the Shoalhaven Gorge between Tallowa Dam and Coolendel.

Following the cliffs out to the next point made it a fifth view .

The Shoalhaven River heading downstram to Coolendel and Nowra.

The next lookout or the first of the "Three Views"

Mt Carrialoo

The second view over Tallowa Dam

The final view looking at the Kangaroo River section of Lake Yarrunga

The junction of Bundanoon Creek and kangaroo River with Mt Carrialoo down the valley.
