Fishponds

Fishponds is on Berowra Creek on the Great North Walk. It is only 1.2klm from the trackhead on Rosemead Ave, Hornsby.

Down to the creek through open Bluegum forest.

The creek crossing at Fishponds.

Fishponds is a series of long pools on the creek.

Lyrebird Gully Walk

Walk from Mt Kuringai to Berowra and then train back to Mt Kuringai. About 10klm all up.

The track follows Calna Creek down to and along Berowra Creek and then back up Sams Creek and a steep climb up to Berowra.

Following Calna Creek down made it one of the prettiest walks I've done for a while.
Hard to capture how green and serene it was along the creek.

The tidal section of the creek as it opens up near where it joins the Great North Walk. The bridge over Calna Creek has collapsed and means a waist deep wade at low tide to get to Crosslands.

Heathcote National Park

Walk in Heathcote National Park in the south of Sydney.  Starting at Waterfall railway station and walking through the park on the Bullawarring Track to Heathcote and the train back to Waterfall

The first stop at Kingfisher Pool. Only as short stop here for a few photos.

The track then becomes rather scrubby with limited views  for the next 4 kilometres until the Pipeline Rd.

Battery Causeway on Heathcote Creek

Mirang Pool further along Heathcote Creek.

All up about 11klm and 4 hours.

Emerald Pool

Walk down to Emerald Pool in Popran National Park near Mangrove Mountain. About 7 klm if you have a 4wd to get to the car park/picnic area on Ironbark Road.

Boronia ledifolia

Styphelia tubiflora

Emerald Pool. The colour really was emerald green and the water crystal clear.

Panorama in camera with the Panasonic Lumix.

The cascades on Hominy Creek dropping down to the pool.
