Panboola then Waratah Gully Camp

An overnight camp with my new tent to Waratah Gully Campground in South East Forests National Park. Breakfast in Pambula, a pie from Wild Ryes Bakery. One of the nicest pies I've had in a long time.

Then a walk around Panboola, a community managed wetlands and habitat restoration project.

Grey Butcherbird

White-necked Heron

Chestnut Teal

Dusky Woodswallow

Superb Fairy-wren

Galah

Then off to Haycock Point in Beowa National Park

Eastern Whipbird

Lace Monitors everywhere

Superb Fairy-wren

And then Haycock Point

Looking south over Haycock Beach

Then off up the escarpment to Waratah Gully. Had the campsite to myself and spent a relaxing afternoon setting up the tent and reading.

A visit from a Grey Currawong

Next morning a short drive to Myanba Gorge

Then off to Bombala and a look at the Platypus Reserve.
Very windy here but a lovely stretch of river. There is a  kayak launch point from a beach so its on a list to come back.

A nice mini break and hopefully the start of many more.

Maloneys Beach to North Head

Part of the new Murramarang South Coast Walk. 10klm return.

Impressive stairs to start the walk. Jelly legged by the time you reach the top.
Virws over the bay to Clyde Mountain
Then out to Reef Point on the Acheron Ledge trail.
Looking back to Reef Point.
Then on to Yellow Rock
and out to Three Islet Point.
Along the cliff top with views over Three Islet Point to the Tollgate Islands until you drop down to North Head Beach
From the camping area at North Head a new part of the track out to the trig on North Head with great views north up the coast.
Not a lot of birds around
Just my usual walk companions.
