Day 4 Northern Kosciuszko

I had stayed the night at Snowy Camp and was lucky to have the whole camp/valley to myself again, except, of course, for the brumbies and kangaroos. I slept in the hammock which was nice as it is always a comfortable sleep. The only pesky possum of the trip made his presence known by climbing up and down around the hammock and over the car.

A beautiful morning as the mist rose.

A quick stop at Currango Homestead.

Then down Port Phillip Fire Trail till it disappears into the dam

Bimberi Peak and Mt Murray on the horizon.

The dam wall at Tantangara

My morning walk was around the edge of the Tantangara plain to Schofields Hut.(12.2klm return)

Along Nungar Creek to the edge of the plain.

Schofields Hut. Not the most interesting hut, but famous? for having a 16 pane glass window.

In the afternoon I stopped just after the Kiandra goldfields and walked in to Gooandra Homestead. (10.2klm return)

The Eucumbene River near its source.

Gooandra Homestead

Open country but with enough features to hold your interest.

On reflection and looking back it was a good day.
