Currarong to Home

After our 2 night stay in Currarong it was time to head slowly home.
A quick stop at Bulls Hole in Jervis Bay National Park for views up and down Warrain Beach.

North to Kinghorn Point

South to Currarong

Then a coffee stop at a cafe on the Crooked River at Gerroa.

Lunch at Kiama on the Harbour for great fish and chips

And then a short walk at Minnamurra Rainforest in Budderoo National Park

Jambaroo Lookout as we climbed the escarpment back to Bundanoon.

A nice 3 day break

Killalea

A quick stop at the NPWS office at Fitzroy Falls to transfer my annual pass to the new car and the on through Belmore Falls for coffee at Robertson before heading to the coast at Killalea State Park.
At Belmore Falls a quick walk to Wonderland falls. Ended up being a not so quick walk as I rolled my ankle which slowed us down a bit.

Not a lot of water coming over the falls today compared with our visits in June 15 and November 17. Has been a very dry summer.

By the time we got to Killalea it was very windy and the temperature had dropped a bit as a front went over.

Killalea Beach which goes by the local name of The Farm. Another short walk down along the beach and then to Killalea Lagoon.  I'll come back one day with a good ankle and walk around the lagoon.

A nice burger for lunch at the cafe above the beach with a great view.

I was going to walk down Minimurra Beach (Mystics) to the Minimurra River but again I put this off for another day.

We finished the day with a quick look at Bushranger Bay at Bass Point before another coffee at Shellharbour then back to Bundy via Jamberoo Pass.

Karloo Pools

Coming up from Bundanoon through showers and low cloud.fog, I thought that this might be another abort. But once I got to Heathcote the showers stopped and I walked down to Karloo Pools. Overcast most of the way with thunder rumbling just to the south but I stayed dry.
I had left the macro lens on the camera which made it easy for some nice wildflower photos.

Darwinia

Grey Spider Flower (Grevillea buxifolia)

Guinea Flower (Hibbertia sp)

Red Spider Flower (Grevillea speciosa)

Water Gum (Tristaniopsis laurina)

A busy lunch time at the Pool.

I then followed the Kangaroo Creek down till I climbed out of the valley and met up with the Bottle Forest Track.

More creek views and pools just as nice as Karloo Pool and not as crowded. I only met one other walker on this section of the track.

Later that afternoon I drove in through Audley and on to Warrumbul on Port Hacking to suss out kayak launch spots.

Huge amounts of traffic leaving the park via Sutherland so I headed south and had a quick look at The Governor Game Lookout above Era Beach. A sea mist was moving in and soon obscured all views. No traffic after this as I exited the park at Waterfall.
