Returning from my Talbingo paddle I turned at Tumut 3 power station at the head of Jounama Pondage and drove up to Buddong Falls.
While the power station is not large in itself, the pipes carrying the water to the turbines are.
As you climb the steeptrack back to the top of the mountains there are views across to Talbingo Mountain and down the Tumut River Valley.
There was a small section here of about 30mtrs where I got my only phone coverage for the week.
Buddong Creek on the way to the falls.
The first and easiest accessible drop of Buddong Falls
Cascades continue on down the gully.
Another falls as you head down the track.
There is a third set of falls which are bigger but were obscured by the bush. The track is part of the Hume and Hovell Trail and kept going downhill. I was unsure whether it led to the a better view of the falls or continued on down to Talbingo. I ran out of time and turned back.
Some more brumbies on the way out. In thick forest these brumbies appeared shaggier and not as conditioned as those on the plains.
Rain coming, and the reason for turning back at Buddong Falls. Made it back to Talbingo before it hit and had the one hour of rain for the whole trip.
