Tallangatta Rail Trail

Moving on from Ruffy to the next BnB at Staghorn Flat in the Kiewa Valley just south of Albury/Wodonga.
I had wanted to stay near here to ride on one of Victoria's Rail Trails. Victoria does Rail Trails well and is something NSW should emulate giving tourist dollars to country regions.  This rail trail, The High Country Rail Trail, of which we only did a small part of, runs 59klm from Wodonga to Cudgewa.

This part of the trail runs beside Lake Hume where we started at the old Huon rail siding and rode the 13klm to Tallangatta and back.

A highlight of this part of the trail is the crossing of Sandy Creek on the reconstructed bridge.

After we drove up to the lookout over Tallangatta.
Tallangatta is famous as the town they moved when they built the Hume Weir across the Murray and formed Lake Hume.

A nice day.
