Gundagai

A road trip of a couple of weeks with stays at Wagga Wagga, Ruffy(Vic) and Staghorn Flat (in Vic near Albury). We had never seen the country so green. Good rains however had caused recent flooding which stopped some of my plans for kayaking .

First stop at  Jugiong for a delicious lunch at Long Track Pantry.

Looking back over Jugiong and the Murrumbidgee River from the lookout on the way out of Jugiong.

Next stop at Gundagai for a walk to view the historic road and rail bridges over the flood plain and river.

Part of the old rail bridge from the lookout.

Even the tourist viewing area on the Prince Alfred Road  Bridge were in a sorry state and were fenced off.

The path under the rail bridge was also closed due I think to flooding.

The rail bridge.

The Prince Alfred road bridge.

The Murrumbidgee River from the bridge. The caravan park was under water prior a week or two prior to our visit.
