St Huberts and Rileys Island

Another perfect autumn day. I paddled from Davistown, around St Huberts Island and had lunch on Rileys Island. A 7.8klm leisurely paddle.

From the boat ramp at Restella Ave looking down the channel and over the top of St Huberts Island to Blackwall Mountain.

Under the mangroves

The bridge to St Huberts

One of the residential coves on the island.

The small island was choc a'block with ibis nests

Looking down to the Rip Bridge

Mt Wondabyne with a hazard reduction burn further west in Popran National Park.

Lunch on the beach at Rileys Island.

Relics from when it was a farm

Huge paperbarks near the swamp.

The swamp with deepwater lagoons that I think are man made.

On the way back the pelicans were patiently waiting for a feed.

A bit of a scuffle when a carcass is thrown.

The escape with the prize

Smug contentment.

Rounding the point at Iloura Reserve.
