Showers predicted and when I launched from the picnic area at Tallowa Dam it did look threatening as I paddled up the Kangaroo River.
2.5klm upstream I turned into Bundanoon Creek with the cloud cover still low.
Another kilometre and the junction of Bundanoon and Sandy Creeks.
Flocks of Little Black Cormorants. At least 2 and possibly 3 flocks of approx 100 birds each.
As they flew up and down the creek gorge, the whisper and whir of their wings as they approached was an amazing sound against the quiet and stillness of the creek.
Typical dround forest as you head up the flooded creek flats.
7.5klm from the Tallowa Picnic area is the head of navigation for the creek and a chance to stretch the legs, watch the Kingfishers and enjoy the quiet.
Magnificent cliff scenery.
You can hear the serenity.
Not only did the rain hold off but some blue sky made an appearance.
Heading back on the Kangaroo River and looking past the dam and up to Mount Williams on the right and the Purri Plateau on the left.
