Grose River

Following on from the last blog, I left the nice easy ridgetop walk and headed very steeply down to the river. Twice the track dropped off  small (2 -3 metres) ledges where a rope was required to assist getting down and back up. This is at the end of the steep downhill before the final drop to the river.

Once down, I had the river all to myself at a great pool before a set of rapids with a good flow,

The perfect lunch spot.

Took probably 1/2 hr to go 100 metres further and get some photos of the rapids.Lots of flood debris and boulders to clamber over.

Looking up at the cliffs at the end of the Kariwoga Ridge, which is supposed to be a good walk. Another day maybe,
