Crawfords Lookout is in Wollemi National Park. The track, about 8klm return, starts at the locked gate at the Culoul Range Fire Trail off Putty Road.
I believe the first lookout you come to is not Crawfords and looks over a loop in Wollemi Creek.
There are numerous lookout points here, and by contouring west along the ridge you come to what I assume is Crawfords Lookout with views over the junction of Wollemi Creek with the Colo River.
Then a third lookout rock, between the two, directly over the loop in Wollemi Creek.
It certainly is breathtaking and rugged country.

I went to the Colo River down from the end of the Culoul fire trail via Crawfords lookout in summer 1979, a time when not many bushwalkers used to go there. In the aera around the only feature with a name was Hollow Rock.
Now it is more than 40 years later and I would like to know if the last big bushfire this november 2019 has burned the aera around the Colo Gorge.
I wonder how it the aera looks now from Crawfords lookout ?
