Duffy's Wharf

Duffy's Wharf is upstream from Bobbin Head on Cowan Creek and a short walk down from Duffy's Forest/Terry Hills. A short walk out to the lookout first and then steeply down to the creek and back.  With a false start on a different track, just over 5klm walked.

Kariong Falls

There had been some good rain, so I thought I would check out Kariong Falls in Brisbane Water National Park. The falls are on the Great North Walk and I walked in from Staples Lookout on Woy Woy R a 6.5klm return walk.

The water in the creek was up and covering where you would usually stand to get a clear shot of the falls.

Easy access though on a ledge next to the falls. 

Not so welcome visitor for lunch.

Crossing the Hawkesbury

Drove down the hill and parked on the Mooney Mooney side of the Hawkesbury and walked across the bridge to Kangaroo Point then on in to Brooklyn. 6.5klm for my afternoon walk.

Crossing the old highway bridge, parallel to the M1 Expressway bridge.

The bridge was opened in may 1945.

Had driven past Kangaroo Point countless times and never realised that there was a park, lookout and public wharf here.

Cremorne Point to Taronga

The plan was to walk from Cremorne Point to Taronga with lunch on the way. To make it easy we decided to park near Taronga Zoo and then catch the ferry to Circular Quay and then across to Cremorne Point for lunch at Sophies Place on the wharf before the start of the walk. Sophies Place has however closed down and there was no where else to eat. Mosman Rowers had closed for lunch by the time we got there so we had to settle for a beer on the deck. Very hungry by the time we  finished the walk.
