Crossing the Hawkesbury

Drove down the hill and parked on the Mooney Mooney side of the Hawkesbury and walked across the bridge to Kangaroo Point then on in to Brooklyn. 6.5klm for my afternoon walk.

Crossing the old highway bridge, parallel to the M1 Expressway bridge.

The bridge was opened in may 1945.

Had driven past Kangaroo Point countless times and never realised that there was a park, lookout and public wharf here.

From the public wharf at kangaroo Point looking at Long Island and the marinas in Sandbrook Inlet

On past the mangroves on the way to Brooklyn.

From Brooklyn looking back down the inlet to the bridge.

Plenty of jetties and marinas in Sandbrook Inlet ,Brooklyn.

Passing some nice trees in local gardens.

Heading back over the bridge, Not a lot of traffic.

Panorama of the estuary from the middle of the bridge.
