Malabar Headland National Park

Every time I have planned to visit  Malabar Headland National Park in the last few years it has coincided with either bad weather or the park being closed during shooting on the nearby rifle range.
But perseverance will pay off and today I managed a walk through the park.

The park lies between Maroubra Beach and Long Bay and the track winds its way around Magic Point and then Boora Point before ending at Malabar Beach.

Wonderland Falls

A short walk to Wonderland Falls near Belmore Falls. A very dry winter and spring but still reasonable water coming over the falls.

And on the way home, The Cherry Tree Walk in Bowral. Something that has been on my must do list for a while. I rode my bike here and then on to The Scottish Arms Pub in East Bowral. I was looking forward to a beer but as I was chaining my bike in the car park I realised that my wallet and money were back in the car.
Still on the list to ride back for a beer. 9klm return from the swimming pool at Bowral.

Grove Creek

Leaving Dubbo late afternoon after my zoo visit I headed to Abercrombie Caves to camp the night. Arriving at the camp site at 1930hrs it was pitch dark as there was no moon. I was surprised to find that I was the only one there. I was so tired that it was a quick dinner of a cup of soup and some noodles then into bed for an early night. After another cold night I was up early and walked a loop from the Caves to Mount Gray then back down into the valley and along Grove Creek to car.  I had started walking at 0630 and after a leisurely  7klm was back at the car by 0830. I was still the only person at the caves.
