Smugglers Ridge Loop

Smugglers Ridge is a walk in Marramarra National Park. The track runs down to Marramarra Creek where there is a campground. I had walked to the creek a few times before but not on the Smugglers Ridge Track. I drove out after work on Wednesday night and camped at the old quarry at the start of the track.

First time using the GoPro camera in night mode. A full moon always makes it difficult for good star photos and didn't make for a good nights sleep as it was like a spotlight shining on the tent all night.

Up and breakfasted and away by 0745 which is the point of camping there the night before.
7klm down to the creek with only 2.5klm on track as it drops off the ridge . The rest of the 17klm walk is on fire trail.

Views over Marramarra Creek  valley as you drop off the ridge

Marramarra Creek, not long after high tide.

Two old orange orchards along the creek flats.

The trail along the flats between the two designated camping areas.

Then a long boring fire trail slog back up Marramarra Ridge to the car.

Back at the car by 1300 for a good cup of coffee before off home for a late afternoon nana nap.
