The Bridging Track runs from Bargo River Road generally following the Bargo River until the Rockford Road bridge. After the heavy rains of the last week I knew I would be unable to cross the river at the start of the walk so I parked at Rockford Rd and walked in reverse. Lots of 4wd tracks heading off in the river reserve and the amount of rubbish and illegal dumping here was a saddening sight as I began the walk. The track followed the ridges above the river and gave little views of the river pools until near the end when it dropped off the ridge for a creek crossing, which was a little higher than normal and thus the turn around point for the walk approx 1klm short of Bargo River Rd. Total return was 7.7klm
The Bargo River at the start near Rockford Bridge
A side creek
The turn around creek. I followed it up for 100 mtrs or so but still no easy way across.
At the river the banks had been scoured and the scrub bent to the force of the river. The flood flow would have been 3 to 4 mtrs higher than the current river level.
Back at Rockford Road.
