After a day and a half of rain and going stir crazy, a break in the weather allowed for a short afternoon outing. 

Goanna Falls is at a small reserve on Greenhills road, Berrima.

Nice to be out.

Gentlemans Halt

Gentlemans Halt is in Marramarra National Park opposite Spencer on the Hawkesbury River. Access is by boat from the river or a ~10klm walk from Canoelands Rd on the way to Wisemans Ferry.  I camped here after paddling from Parsley Bay at Brooklyn.

Gentlemans Halt has salt pan which is unusual for this far south and more common in the tropics. 

An enjoyable mini break close to home.

Gentlemans Halt-The Journey

An overnight kayak trip to Gentlemans Halt on the Hawkesbury River opposite Spencer. Starting from Parsley Bay at Brooklyn, a 17klm paddle against the tide. But what can you do, I haven't the time to wait for the tide to turn. 

Coming back the next day 22.5klm  with a side trip up the creek at Marlow and a detour to Bar Island, the half way point, for coffee and a snack.  Caught the turn of the tide at Bar Island for an easier paddle back.
