Up early after a poor nights sleep in the rain, I drove on to Hillston.
Breakfast on the banks of the Lachlan River and then, I must admit, another hours sleep in the car. The rain had started to close roads and asking at the council office I was told that it was a bit iffy for Willandra National Park and then across to Ivanhoe and Menindee.
So, a change of plans and off on the bitumen, south to Hay.
Across the Hay plains.
Coffee stop at Sandy Point in Hay,on the Murrumbidgee River. A lovely camping and picnic reserve right in town.
The Hay weir 14klm from town for lunch
Then back towards town and set up camp at Reserve 4 adjacent to Woolendel Regional Park.
A late afternoon paddle on the Murrumbidgee
Some night photography before bed.
