Bonnie Vale

High tide at the Basin between Bonnie Vale and Maianbar.
Only access is at high tide and along a small inlet over shallow sandbanks before it opens out to a huge basin which is they tell me about 8 metres deep.

So peaceful in there. As the tide rises it banks up at a narrow entrance with a bridge across it before opening up to the basin. This means that the race under the bridge at high tide is a drop of about 40cm over about 5 metres and you paddle downhill.

The late evening sun on the mangroves was beautiful.

Finished the paddle and back at the Bonnie Vale camping area at 7 in the evening.
