Worth A Stop

Blackheath Rhododendron Gardens. Acres of gardens in a bush setting. Rhododendrons not quite at their best yet. Run and maintained by volunteers who told me mid October is the time to visit. The Camellia and Pieris were putting on a good show now.

Pulpit Rock is a spectacular and vertiginous lookour on the western rim of Govett Gorge. Three levels of lookout take you further out over the cliffs and pillars of rock standing over the gorge.

Amazing walls of cliff looking back towards Govetts Leap.

Braeside Walk

The Braeside walk at Blackheath takes you along Govetts Leap Brook to Barrow Lookout at Bridal Veil Falls and then along the clifftop to Govetts Leap Lookout. We left one car at Govetts Leap and drove back to the start of the Braeside Track.

Bridal Veil Falls (Govetts Leap-Leap being Scottish for a waterfall)
