Hunter Sunset

A dinner with my daughter and her fiance in Newcastle. As always I couldn't resist a walk out to Nobbies. One of my favourite short walks and another nice sunset.

Such a pretty and vibrant city. 

Durras Lake Trail

The Durras Lake Trail starts near North Durras and follows the northern edge of Durras Lake. 

The trail ends back at the road in to North Durras where you turn around and walk back. 

Following the creek down to the lake.

Lovely spotted Gum forest 

And some Glossy Black Cockatoos feeding in the Casuarina. 

Out and back including the Discovery trail loop at the beginning/end about 11klm.

Acheron Ledge and Reef Beach

A short walk from Maloneys Beach through Murramarang National Park and out to Acheron Ledge on Reef Point and then down to Reef (?) Beach.

and south to the Tollgate Islands at the entrance to Batemans Bay 

Then an un-named beach just east of Reef Point 

A pleasant  5.5klm walk

Changes

It's been a very busy and crazy couple of months. I bought a house at Batemans Bay with the intention of using it for holidays and eventual retirement. After settlement I spent  3 weeks here and then returned to work and home. Three days back at work and I searched for jobs in Batemans Bay and the ideal job popped up. I couldn't let it pass and applied for and got the position. I haven't started yet but have moved down permanently. It's all happened quick and I still can't believe it. I always planned to end up on the South Coast.

The day after settlement was a cold but perfect morning for my first walk to my beach.

 Seven minutes from home for this view.

Life is good. 

Booderee Day Trip

A day trip down to Booderee National Park to see the whales.

First stop at Iluka Beach for a cuppa and a walk on the white sands.

Then up to St Georges lighthouse ruins to see some whales. Plenty going past but all a long way from shore. 

Nice views down to Moes Rocks

After a late lunch at Bristol Point we had a walk out to Hole in the Wall. 

And then on to Murrays Beach and Governors Head lookout in the last light.
