Bomaderry Creek Gorge

Was told that Bomaderry Creek was a great paddle up a gorge and would be protected from the strong winds we were having. Decided not to paddle but walk the gorge from the Bomaderry Creek regional Park.

A hidden gem, with the entrance only 300 metres fom the highway coming in to Nowra.

Walked the 5.5klm loop along both sides of the creek. Had only allowed for a quick stop so so raced around the stated 3 hour walk in one hour.

Reminiscent of some of the Blue Mountain walks and gorges.

Really enjoyed this walk so will definitely be back.

Pieries Peak

Another walk in Mt Royal National Park. This time through forest along a ridge with a gentler rise.

Again a narrow ridge out to the peak with a marked difference in vegetation from the east to the west slope.

Looking west and south towards Bayswater Power Station and Muswellbrook.

After coming through the forest the ridge continues onto a bald peak with rainforest on the steep eastern slope. This shot looking north, back along the ridge with Mt Royal to the right of centre.
